A 29-year-old man was hit by an unknown vehicle just before 2:30 a.m.
The incident happened on the northbound lanes of the FDR Drive near East 74th Street.
Detectives have no witnesses and no description on the vehicle.
The northbound FDR was closed between East 60th and East 96th streets for the investigation.
