An NYPD officer flew into action Tuesday night to rescue a wild bird stuck in an unusual situation.

When officers arrived at a building on East 102th Street Tuesday afternoon, they found a falcon trapped between two buildings.

An officer lowered a ladder down a shaft and managed to reach the bird and get it out.

The falcon was not hurt.

The officer wrapped the bird in a blanket and safely released it in Central Park.
