Oheka Castle owner Gary Melius speaks out in video

HUNTINGTON

"I got a break. Whatever that means. I guess God looked out for me," he said.

Recovering from eye surgery and still nursing a wound covered by a bandage on the side of his head, Melius is letting everyone know he's alright

The owner of Oheka Castle was shot in the head exactly two weeks ago by a masked gunman.

"If you get lucky, you get another chance," he said.

It's still unclear who shot Melius. He was getting into his car in the Castle parking lot when he was shot. It's not a secret that Melius has many political and financial connections. Whether those connections played a role in what happened remains a mystery.

For right now Melius just wants to give everyone a message.

"I want you to know I'm healing getting better and just looking forward to starting all over again," Melius said.

Investigators have released few details about the shooting and it's unclear if they're narrowing in on a suspect.

Melius says even though he has pretty much stared death in the face, not much has changed in his mind.

"Everything is just the same for me. I'm just that type of guy I guess," he said.
